Raphael Ngari from Mukangu village,Ruguru Ngandori Ward Embu is making a fortune through farming of capcicum.
Raphael reveals that he got the skills from trainers from Nairobi who were looking for people with greenhouses.
Ngari who started farming in 2012 says that after the first harvest he did not give up and re-invested sh.80,000 from his first harvest to install another greenhouse.
He also said that starting was hard for him due to various challenges such as soil acidity and irrigation which he didn't know how to go about.
"For every two weeks i harvest 300-400kgs with a kilo of hoho going for sh.100 totally to sh.80,000 a month,"Ngari said in an interview adding that he has not been able to meet the market demand yet.
"We have a problem with market currently due to the situation in the country."
Youths have been encouraged to adopt farming as a way of earning income.
