Just finished listening to a very inspirational labour day speech by Lee Hsien the Prime Minister of Singapore since 2004 to all workers including migrants. Lee Hsein is a dynasty as his father Lee KuanYew was Singapore PM from the 1959 to 1990.

I should remind you that in 1963, when Kenya got independence, and Singapore merged with Malaysia, Kenya’s GDP was $926.6 million while Singapore’s was $917.2 million

What was Singapore population then and now? Kenya's?

And what was the ethnic composition of Singapore's population? What were the literacy levels?

I could on and on and on.

And Singapore had a strong mercantile and maritime culture dating back the 1400's. Sometimes people need a little bit of context when comparing it with Kenya.

Did a strong mercantile and maritime culture also help in reducing their corruption from being one of the most corrupt countries? We need to be honest and accept corruption is the cancer. Not population growth and other excuses
