Curfew in gated communities.

What would you differently when dealing with a Kenyan who refuses to follow government directives for their own safety?
True some people are just rouge and some form of forceful enforcement is needed but I think in some instances it would be better to review the directives, how do you explain a case where police stop a transport truck and proceed to whip the driver while a circular clearly states the people or operations exempt from the curfew, whipping people who break rules seems too colonial like.
Heavy fines would be a better alternative, but still circumstances have to be considered if public transport fails to move people, the government should consider proving the same, or consider a complete lockdown, or a half day work directive, something more realistic.

Heavy fines would be a better alternative,
is this practical in the circumstances. Today beingthe ffirst day of enforcing the curfew, how many would you have arrested and where would you have held them before the courts that are not working? At least mwenye amepata kiboko leo kesho atajitoa mapema.

I think with proper planning its practical, there are numerous government institutions that are empty and can be used as a temporary holding for suspects as they pay the fines or something more creative, the problem with kiboko is that, tomorrow that doctor or nurse who will be required to respond to your emergency will be afraid to venture out, and since kiboko invokes bad memories in most people they will be thinking more about the kiboko than the social distancing thing, they will forget to wash their hands since they are afraid of the kiboko, and the whole thing might not meet its intended purpose.

I agree some measures have and will continue being taken, but I think its good to still be a bit considerate.
