Raila regrets the loss of the Adani Airport deal

How shameless can some people be. When the GenZ anarchist were threatening to occupy JKIA, ODM was happy to pour fuel on the fire just because they were in the opposition. Suddenly, now the Adani PPP was a huge loss? Give us a break!

When Ruto was forced into canceling the deal after Adani were interdicted in the US, which would have made raising funds for the project a challenge, it was probably the right thing to do then. But I remember saying here that the case would probably go away. Guess what? When Trump came in the case was thrown out and now Adani are full steam ahead in TZ expanding their airport.

Meanwhile we get to watch all our neighbours upgrade their airports and steal our traffic while we are stuck with a shitty one which no investor wants to touch because of the Gen Z anarchists. What a pathetic group of clowns.

Stick to facts. The Adani deal was cancelled because
a) It is against Kenyan PPP laws to engage a firm that has been charged with corruption
b) There was no public participation
c) KAA did not carry any due diligence and had not done any feasibility studies
d) The project was procured irregularly.
e) There was no justification why the project could not be procured competitively.

Other facts:
- Adani has no airport deal with Tanzania
- Adani has never run an airport outside of India
- Everyone knows he paid Ruto to get the deal.
- It does not make sense to use $2 billion to improve an airport when Rwanda is using the same amount to build an airport with twice the capacity of JKIA
- That the Adani charges in the US were dismissed does not mean he is not guilty. It was for political convenience.
- Competitive bidding would give Kenya the best deal

You should have just left it at this a) It is against Kenyan PPP laws to engage a firm that has been charged with corruption.

This Adani deal whose proposal was cleared by KAA in one day is what you guys are trying to sanitize? Is Adani the only guy who can expand airports? Didn’t you fuckers hear there were other better deals to expand Kenyan airports that were rejected on flimsy grounds?

Sycophants wa Mr 19% are the worst. Can only be compared to sycophants of Sir Everlyn Barring who ruled Kenya between 1952 and 1961.

What led you to that unfortunate conclusion?
The guaranteed IRR of 18% Adani was demanding was excessive, and would almost be impossible to achieve, meaning Adani would need to be compensated at the end of the lease to make up for the shortfall. Something else, the KAA was going to shoulder the force majeure risk for the entire duration of the project. Who does that?

Did you just grab this from an article? Did you at least learn how long the guarantee was meant to last?

If KAA was going to take a loan, which would not even be significant, who do you think woukd shoulder the risk?

This information was contained in their proposal, which I took the time to read, so that I can argue from a point of knowledge. I suggest you do the same.
