I have been fortunate enough to have interacted with people who have dealt with Mp's and CDF. Those people use that money like a slash fund. They will inflate the prices of projects and even supply goods from their own businesses at those inflated prices.

It is all about policies first. Tell me why Kimani Ichungwa is tarmacking the Kijiji roads while some main roads in Juja and Ruiru are in a very bad state. Are you implying he is a better leader than others?

Exactly. He is. Him and Nyoro have done better with CDF and pushing for roads in their constituencies. What is the juja mp doing?

The work of a leader is like that of a banker. Using the deposits/taxes to invest in revenue generating activities that generate more revenue. Few do it well.

This flawed thinking is what makes many think things like affordable housing are the magic bullet. What if the govt spent the money in places like Kitengela ,Juja ,Kenol,Kabati , Malaa to build infrastucture outside Nairobi that will help improve quality of life?

Who do people bootlick in national government to get development?

The whole idea of pushing CDF money to counties is not that it will be used better there. It is a question of getting legislators to focus on their main mandate which is legislation. That is why no president has been able to remove CDF from mps because they know the mps will become hostile to them. This is about the independence of the legislature.

The reason why your kitengela road is in such a poor state is the reason why the road to my rural home, riddled with potholes, is only finally getting properly repaired this year. Previously it was poorly patched up during the funeral of Rigathi's brother and the potholes returned 2 months later.

There aren't enough resources. What do you think someone in North Eastern would say about your Malaa road?

All road infrastructure in Kenya is being financed using debt and until such a time when Kenya can fix its debt problem don't expect much progress on non-critical infrastructure.

Every single role on the ballot papers is very important and one should spend a lot of time and effort vetting candidates carefully for each of those roles, from mca to president.
