It's good to be hopeful, but let me remind you that the average voter is that guy who tries crossing the swollen river during floods, despite videos all over of his fellow countrymen getting carried away by the raging waters. And the ones who pretend to be woke/educated are the ones who elect Songo/waititi/sakaja, despite all the evidence that they are frauds. In short, the average voter can hardly determine what's right or wrong. Moreso, siasa, especially here are always emotive. That's why there is ever election atmosphere throughout. Nothing sensible will ever come from voting with emotions.

When people perceive the malfunctions of a government at the grassroots level, they do not need much convincing about who not to elect. If the current mood persists into 2027, we could be witnessing the first time a president is elected without campaigning. And that will be a turning point since the president will not be beholden to tribal representatives but the electorate.

When I said that the Gen Z protests will make politicians close ranks and lock us out, I knew what I was saying.

There is them and then there is us. Elections are about fighting for control over tax payer money. Ruto wants a bite, Raila wants a bite and for sure Uhuru wants a bite. That is why Omtatah has zero chance. He doesn't have popular leeches backing him like the three guys. Neither does he have the strategic thinking of a Ruto. He thinks he is Jesus reincarnated.

I will tell you for free, if you listen to the average voter on the ground complaining about tough economic times, they always qualify that with Ruto anatumaliza (kikuyus). Now that Uhuru seems to be backing Ruto, just wait for the change of tone.

Furthermore, don't put your faith in these so called Gen Z. They blow hot and cold in a flash. You can go from being a hero to the villain in the same day. Just ask Morara and Kasmuel. Omtatah will learn that lesson soon enough.

Reducing the size of government is the only solution, but all Kenyans seem to want is expand it for 'representation'.

They did. 1M+ voted for Raila. Raila only lost because Luos did not turn up. In my family I was the only one to vote for Ruto. But the difference in 2027, if Uhuru, Ruto and Raila are on one side and Kalonzo, Omtatah etc are on the other, who will Mt Kenya vote for? It is either higher apathy which serves nobody or they vote where their 'kingpin' tells them to.

When baboons and monkeys heard that the farmer who used to chase them from the maize field had died, they celebrated with joy.
