Many people tend to think that when using drips you just require little amount of water which is not really true. 40,000l of water was not enough even to cover for 4 acres a day .

So make sure you have a permanent water source and producing enough water especially during bulbing stage why?

1. Ensures Proper Bulb Development: During the bulbing stage, the onion plant transitions its energy from leaf growth to bulb formation. Adequate water ensures the plant has enough resources for this critical process.

Our cabbage on the other end were doing well in the nursery bed. Here we were applied high phosphorus fertilizer and sprayed fungicides and pesticide as usual.

Phosphorus fertilizer and foliars when applied in all nurseries have some benefits eg.

1. Promotes Root Development: Phosphorus supports strong and healthy root growth, ensuring the seedlings develop a robust root system for better nutrient and water uptake.

2. Enhances Seed Germination: Phosphorus plays a key role in energy transfer processes in plants, improving the germination rate and vigor of young seedlings.

3. Supports Early Growth: It helps the seedlings establish quickly by promoting cell division and overall plant development in their early stages.

4. Strengthens Seedling Resilience: Phosphorus improves the seedlings' ability to withstand stress conditions, such as transplanting shock or unfavorable weather.

5. Improves Nutrient Uptake: A well-established root system, aided by phosphorus, allows the seedlings to access other essential nutrients in the soil efficiently.
