Busy bee

New Lister
I had not been in church for the longest time, I was just busy doing my work and weekends were meant to either have me rest or hang out with the boys. Mostly, we would be watching football at a club or just out there road tripping. I was also a part of a bikers club and we'd meet on the last weekend of the month and ride for fun.
These activities became my routine and I found my peace in immersing myself in them.

But this particular Sunday, around two years ago, I felt my soul weary and my life had become quite hopeless. I was doing well with myself financially and socially but my soul was unsatisfied. I set out on a solo journey to find purpose of my existence.

So I visit this church and at the end of the service the pastor comes to receive and welcome me in to his church .It's a small church, probably a hundred persons. The pastor introduces me to the youth officials. I'm their new initiate and I'm open for interactions. I promise to show up the next service and after several Sunday services I committed to become a member of the church.
Occasionally, I'd still make time to meet with my boys to catchup.

Long after joining this church, I get attracted to a fair lady who was one of the youth officials I was first introduced to. Not only was she a youth leader but she as well served in the church's intercession ministry. Her fervent prayers was a turn on. I wouldn't miss any prayer meeting she was assigned to lead. She was sincere and somehow consumed by a passion for the Lord's work. Her smile lighted the entire church hall, her ponytail hang to her shoulders and swayed as she moved around the church dias. Her dressing was modest and damn! This lady was beautiful. Her skin tone was rich in melanin with a curvy body and soft-spoken voice.

I garnered enough info about her and I was now aware she wasn't seeing anyone. She was a no nonsense lady and the men in the church avoided her like plague. Her demeanor scared possible suitors away and her confidence was on par. I also knew her name to be Judy and she was orphaned as a little child and the pastors took her in.
I asked her out for coffee after service and with the pastor's approval, she consented.
We drove to Java house along Limuru road and we had a chatty afternoon.
She was 31years old and I was three years elder of her.
I confessed my feelings and thoughts towards her and how I look forward to marrying her someday. I let her know she could take her time and give the response any time she felt comfortable .

Judy informed me there and then that she was equally interested and so there was no need to waste time courting. Our first date had us begin planning on our wedding and she said it has to happen in the next two weeks if I love her as much as I profess to. She said that she always knew I was her answered prayer the very day I stepped foot in their church and since my eyes have opened, nothing should delay the blessing.
Moreso, unlike the girls I'd hang out with at the clubs, Judy said she had reserved her virginity for the husband and the sooner we got married the better that would be for her.

I later dropped her at the pastor's house which was her home and she told them of our plan to marry and become one. She was overly excited about it and the pastor and his wife agreed to us wedding.

The weekend following we went to meet my parents in Nyahururu and two days after I paid her dowry. I handled everything calmly and provided for any need that arose. I had two million budgeted for her dowry and the wedding and that wouldn't hurt my account anyway.
I also hired personal assistants to give a helping hand since time was not on our side.

On the second Saturday of June, the year 2022, I _Martin Ndirangu married the love of my life, my wife -Judy Mwende.

Very reliable up-coming neighbourhood writer. Keep going...though you rushed the weeding too much, even for purposes of us predominantly short-spanned attentional semi-literate villagers here.
