I have a dream

That one day, this nation will be led by people who aren’t consumed by power, but driven by intelligence and humility. Oh, I have a dream... That we will break free from the chains of tribalism and let true visionaries lead. Where a candidate's track record, not empty slogans or fake piety, will determine their worth.

Oh, I have a dream!

Among the people we might call upon at some point to serve the country should the need arise.

Unfortunately Kenyans cannot elect such characters. We want change but when called upon we retreat to tribal cocoons. Just look at the current shenanigans of impeachment of riggy g, we are already aligned tribally yet we all know it is just hot air to divert from SHA and adani deals.

Political Leadership should ideally be about altruism, patriotism and service to community.
As someone has pointed out in another post, Kenyans like spitting out popular jargons with abandon without really understanding the full import of the terms.
I am here talking of “Servant Leadership” which is in every Kenyan lips.

Political leadership shouldn’t be a quick way or shortcut to enrichment. In the free world, Prime Ministers and Presidents are paid peanuts or have their salaries given to charities.
Just this week it emerged here in UK that the PM aide earns lots more than the PM.

When shall we learn that leadership is a calling? A sacrifice to fellow countrymen but not an avenue to domination and grabbing national tax monies?

Unfortunately, only 5% of the population have a capacity to understand this! That percentage does not win elections.
