When we refer some countries as bonobo republic others wanakataa... now what is this? An insurance company wont cover Corona virus. So who will meet the cost?

i asked that question na watu wakaignore, shouldnt the government pay that cost incured to the insurance companies! or rather shouldnt the insurance companies bill the government!

Why should the government meet the cost through a third party? The government meets the cost directly by building hospitals, buying drugs and paying personnel. but because the task is huge it welcomes some private citizens to put up infrastructure (priv hosps) and meet management costs (insurance). Those who go the insurance way can claim tax relief coz they do not depend on the government funded system.

So what happens when you get the virus? who pays the cost of treatment? is there then, any reason to come out to get treated if you cannot afford it? will this discourage people from coming out, and if they did will they be forced back into poverty?

No one asks you to pay for treatment of a disease that has been declared a pandemic. This is why ARVs are given free. Ukipatikana na virus upelekwe Mbagathi ukipona utaenda nyumbani firii. Lakini ukijisikia useme huwezi tibiwa kwa garagaria uende Nairobi Hosp then utalipa coz it is your choice, assumimg they have isolation facilities.

Hiyo mbagathi usiende hata kidogo, I have a very bad experience with that hospital.

A relative who had chronic stomach ulcers was diagnosed with cholera by the KMTC students CO who ran the place, the MOs who are supposed to be there are usually busy in their private hospitals and clinics.
He almost died there, until we decided to change the hospital after learning that he had been admitted at mbagathi two days later.
