Everyday in TV, newspapers and radio there is somebody (politicians, activists and media analysts) dividing Kenyans on gender lines. It's always men are bad. Men are unfair. Men are violent. Men are irresponsible.
If you try to say any of that about a particular tribe DCI will swiftly get you and lock you up.
Who made it okay to do this? And why do we men agree to be painted as evil and good for nothing? Some lost men like Jeff Koinange participate in it.
In Kitui BBI rally, men (fake men?) booed Raphael Wanjala. And what Raphael Wanjala was saying makes sense.
Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala who spoke against gender proposals made in the BBI.
"We support the BBI but a few days ago, the government sent us to Germany on a benchmarking trip. The Europeans informed us that we Africans have a problem and that we usually adhere to directives from them, directives that they do not adopt in their own countries.
"They stated that the gender issue is never legislated in a democratic society. You cannot force a man who wants to be a governor, to nominate a woman as a deputy. This is a democratic nation and everyone will compete on his own. You are not entering into a marriage," Wanjala stated.
There are so many reasons to make Kenyans vote NO and very few to vote YES when BBI comes to referendum.
