That move will breed chaos.
Let's hope a sensible man will challenge this in court, (landlords association of Kenya) if such an outfit does exist.
These corporations have only one goal, make life difficult for Kenyans. They assume everyone is wealthy or privileged as they are. Submeters may work but as we all know they'll be faulty or exaggerated so as tenants pay more.

Why should the issues of submeters even arise? Landlords separated meters so each tenant can manage their own consumption. To force back ten tenants in a flat to one meter (and one bill!) is to create endless conflicts between l/lords and tenants. It is also to tell selfish tenants to stop buying gas and acquire all kinds of coils and hotplates, escalating the l/lord's bills and increasing risk of fires exponentially.
I imagine the move is driven by KP's desire to sell more power but I think it is self-defeating. I remember when some lords used to switch off power 8.00 am to 6.00pm and they might revert to such behaviour . Where will KP then take the unconsumed power?

How will Kplc sell more power,? Maybe wanataka za connection fee

How will they get connection fees when they are planning to reduce connections ie kama flat iko na nyumba kumi zote zitumie meter moja badala ya kila nyumba meter yake yake?

KPLC thinks if the burden of paying the bill is removed from the tenant then the tenant will be reckless with power usage unlike now where ukinunua token unaichunga isiishe haraka.
