As offensive as that mzungu is, it has never crossed my mind that "Kusonga ugali" is actually just boiling maize flour with enough water that it doesn't turn into porridge.

And the fact that porridge is more common across cultures allover the world compared to ugali, probably because wheat was among the first crops to be domesticated, makes me wonder what the first person who cooked/boiled ugali was doing.

He saw an entlope across the range, forgot he he was preparing porridge, started chasing the animal, didn't get it after chasing it for 100 kilometers. Only to came back and found the porridge has turned into ugali ! Voilà new discovery
