Getting passports has become an uphill task

For the past 7 months or so I've noticed lots of complaints about delays in getting passports. Is it by design that a document that we used to get with ease during Uhuru's time is now hard to get?

The passport printing machine has had a headache in the last one year or so. It usually takes 15-20K aspirin to make it work. You give them the cash they go buy the aspirin themselves.

If you were old enough you can remember between 1994-2002 several youths flying out of the country for greener pastures. That trend reduced between 2002-2015 but slowly it started picking up again. But since last elections the search for opportunities abroad has increased tremendously. I wonder why that is so just 1 year into the new administration

How do you guys get into situations where you need to bribe someone to get a passport?
I applied for my passport in 2021 and I got it after 3 weeks without bribing anyone.
