Timboroa was established around 1930 as a British Railway station. It is 2894 metres above the sea level, making it the highest Railway station in Kenya. Timboroa is from two Nandi words Tim (Forest) Poroa ( tendril plant eg Periploca linearifolia). The station lies on the boundaries of the three counties of Baringo, Kericho, and Uasin Gishu.

That will be a stop over in a road trip ,kasarani - Nakuru - maringat - Eldoret - Timboroa -Elburton - Njoro - Kihingo - Stoombiri - Bagaria - Gilgil - Kimende - Kagwei - Githunguri - Ruiru - kasarani
