China Square Mall

These are very different analogies ama zinaitwoje. China square inaleta finished goods or to be clear , manufacturers who sold you goods at the factory wanafungua factory outlets mpiganie soko.
Kenyans are also naive, thats a Chinese gov't entity any big venture by chinku has their gava ndani.
This is not true. There is not a single Chinese factory outlet in China square. The volumes are too small for such arrangements.

If I am not mistaken these Nyamakima and Rifarori Guys were a constant thorn on Konyagi’s legitimate fight against counterfeit goods and tax cheating.
They ran into the open arms and listening ears of JSKS and actually contributed millions to his campaigns and made the necessary noises against Dynasties.
He in turn promised them a Carte Blanche if he won the presidency.

It will therefore be very interesting to see how JSKS and Riggy G mollify and appease these traders considering that they can’t close down Chinese Square as that would be tantamount to closing down Carrefour or such a foreign owned retailer.
And just like that, this very early in the game, JSKS’s lying tongue will be exposed and opposed.
Burr ofcourse JSKS and riggyg have to be blamed....but I support you watu wasilipe tax

I usually buy items from Aliexpress, and it is not unusual to find the same items selling in local shops at ten times what I pay at Aliexpress. Nothing justifies such margins. If I could not buy from Aliexpress, I would not afford the products at all.
Hii association ya nyamakima if they are allowed to have their way, direct imports from ali express will be next on the chopping board

Its a matter of time. If enough people start using Aliexpress, they will go after it.

Why don't we just close all factories and import because its cheap. Most people are ignorant of the inter-dependency of people esp the employed. As long as i get my pay slip at end month i am set. The people who import goods in the value chain create jobs and pay taxes. Whoever said they don't pay i. wonder who peddles such false info. KRA agents visit those shops and most have ETR machines but anyway agenda must agend.

No one wants to answer this " Would China give reciprocal treatment to you if you opened a mall there? "

Today we will gang up to fight Nyamakima and Kamukunji, tommorrow we move to small scale manufacturers or dairy or tea industry. Then go online to whine how our jobs have been taken by foreigners.

If they are soo keen investors why don't they start companies that will create real jobs.

Why would a consumer seeking to preserve the remnants of his payslip worry about reciprocal treatment, when that electronic appliance is waaay cheaper in the China square.
It's not personal, it's good business.

JSKS and his battalion cunningly want their followers to believe that the Government is able to opportunistically legislate by anecdote, by feelings and emotions, shall we say?

Doesn’t work that way. Government policy need to be grounded on reason and pragmatism, never on knee jerk reactions.

As concerns the matter at hand, I can bet my left tit that they won’t be able to afford the Traders the leeway they desire against China Mall given the bigger picture, potential repercussions and retaliatory might of the Chinese State.
However if KK followers are such stupid as to believe Riggy G’s hype, why not.

As a trader, you have a role to play and that role must deliver value to society. If you specialize in fleecing or exploiting society, you are a liability to society, and society will be better off without you. If I buy a plate at China Mall for 300 shillings and save 300, instead of buying the same plate at 600 shillings at Nyamakima, the saved money will give me more value as I spend it on something else, and promote a deserving business in the process. Would you be okay if I camped outside your door and insisted on getting your morning bread at twice the usual price?

Evidently, businesses specialized in exploiting customers instead of delivering value. Someone saw this anomaly and decided to provide a solution. The Chinese mall would have had no chances if the people at Nyamakima provided value. Think about this; supermarkets have been opening all over but small shops continue to operate. Why is this the case? They deliver value.
