Online consumption of news is the cause for the reduced fortunes in the media industry.

Wazee kama Wachira Waruru saw quite far and abandoned the newspaper that used to be printed by Royal media services and years later opted for viusasa.

I beg to differ, Kenyan media has constantly bet on the wrong horse.(I'm not saying they should bootlick, just be fair and balanced)
Journalistic standards are in the sewer! We no longer have columnists that would make you buy a newspaper.
Online consumption cannot be an excuse for their failing businesses. I mean who wants to listen to marina & kingangi or mbusi or that patanisho nonsense?

wakule ujeuri yao.

Recall the Posta and Telcommunication death , the print media is facing the grave

Wako clueless kabisa they probably kicked out mark masai and okari because of the pay and hired other guys to pay them less instead of focusing on content and how to deliver it now the guys they kicked out become their competitors

Young people don't read.
We also don't write on slate.
Just sample any ten university or post university youth and ask them the last time they read a newspaper.
Medium changed, next time ask them their news sources, utapata its wider than the the 3 newspapers I find on the desks of government types
or how many are reading a book currently.
Hapa pia uliza if they they are also doing ebooks / audio books.

Worldwide. People are receiving and consuming news differently with the advent of social media.

Bidenstan with the holiday season shopping spree, big retailers are now using Tik Tok (of all social platforms  ) to drive their targeted sales goals during this busy period. What would have been in the past ad revenue for big media houses via print or TV, which is now a thing of the past.
