I keep telling you devolution is a failure

We in the 'ground' have been witnessing the fuckery going on in terms of devolution, with the exception of Turkana and Laikipia counties, Agricultural extension officers have never been hired since the advent of devolution, some counties have less than 20 agricultural department staff, from over 100 in 2013, this being due to natural attrition. Anyway it reduced pressure on the presidential election with exception of one perrenial candidate who believes that the presidency is his God given right.

The issue is not whether devolution has failed or not. This highlights the rot all the way from the top at the national level to the bottom of the devolved units. The lack of accountability and consequences.

Start jailing all the people involved (no sacred cows), seize assets, bank accounts, require mandatory restitution and see how quickly folks will shape up.

Without devolution si hii pesa ingekulwa huku Nairobi and some stashed in tax havens?
Afathali it employs locals (even if illegally) watazitumia huko mashinani?!
Think devolution has transformed many formerly small towns immensely.

There's hardly any success from devolution.
Kenya under Uhuruto would be far ahead than where we are if it wasn't for devolution.

Devolution= devolved corruption

If you recall garisa and makuweni counties were first in requesting National government to be dissolved as county, we are very very lucky, that after 10year we don't have 47 warlords in our nation. Devolution is going no where ! What we need is some bits of constitutional amendment (of course genuine not the BBI hidden agenda) that will address the challenges each county had faced so far . Including the national government

This same Jubilee 1 administration that was losing 2 billion daily? By Uhuru's own admission.

Didn't the NYS saga also happen under that same administration? Isn't one of the accused who was in charge of that docket now serving her second term as governor?

The rot starts at the very top since independence and has trickled down.

Please take some time and visit Kakamega county where Oparanya was governor and see what devolution can achieve if managed well.

Yes corruption starts from the top.Under previous administration, we had one head. Now we have 48 heads.

The fact is corruption is now alot because of devolution.

Share what Oparanya has achieved with devolution

Salute to Oparanya the guy made sure to invest in the basic things that when utilized will spur further growth within that County...made me question the guys(MCA) who disputed the acquirng of Mumias Sugar Company by the County Govt of Katch when Oparanya floated that idea

Mtaenda hapa na pale, up and down. Left and right. East and west. The issue is very simple. Lack of integrity among the voters results in lack of integrity in the leadership.

Lack of integrity is in all countries. I hope you're aware the COVID scandals in UK would make the Kenyan one child's play. What we lack in Kenya is accountability. The UK company involved in chicken gate scandal was fined £2.2m. The Kenyan counterparts are free

This is an IQ issue, not a devolution one. If you transplanted high IQ people like Caucasians and East Asians here with the same constitution and structure, you'd have a developed country in less than a generation.
