In any case, when boys and girls realise how difficult, cumbersome and inconveniencing it is to bring up a baby, it acts as a deterrent.

Compare that to ours where the Judge never even referred them to a Children Officer or Social Services for any help or advise.

Children's officers are involved in all cases where minors are involved as a matter of routine nowadays. The Children's and gender officer at the police station is supposed to alert the children's department immediately a child is brought to station.

I asked you that because I'm a father to teenage boys and girls.

I do my best to educate them about the risks of premarital sex. Everyone of them understands the risks of STDs and HIV. I have told them about the friends and jiranis we lost in the 90s juu ya kamdudu.

I don't advocate for my son to sleep with someones daughter as a minor. But I will be unhappy if you drag him before a court of law and criminalize him. Simply because he is a boy!

I disagree with criminalizing minors who are boys! Why is it that it's only the boy who gets the blame?

Well, @mzeiya, I guess it is not a bad pastime to seek and pursue intelligence.
Even the good book exhort thus:


(A)Get wisdom! Get understanding!

You cannot solve teenage pregnancies. You can only prevent those that have not happened. Punishing one of the parties (who were not old enough to make sound decisions) does not solve anything. If anything, it lays the ground for difficulties for the resultant child.
