Police officer shoots dead two colleagues at Moyale Police Station

A police officer has shot dead two fellow officers and injured two others during a melee at Moyale Police Station on Sunday morning at around 6.10 am.
The bodies of the deceased officers have since transferred to Moyale Sub-County Hospital awaiting post-mortem while one of the injured officers, who was shot in the arm, is in a critical condition.
The other victim is reportedly in stable condition.
 
What is the difference between victim and casualty?
1 `victim'
You refer to someone as a victim when they have suffered as the result of a crime or natural disaster.
They offered financial aid for flood victims.
We have been the victims of a terrible crime.
2 `casualty'
You don't usually use `victim' to refer to someone who has been injured or killed in a war or accident. The word you use is casualty.
There were heavy casualties on both sides.
The casualties were taken to the nearest hospital.

OB NO.09/23/10/2022 AT 0720 HRS

*SUBJECT:SHOOTING/ MURDER/SUICIDE INCIDENT*

THIS HAPPENED TODAY AT MOYALE POLICE STATION LINES AT ABOUT 0610 HOURS.

IT HAPPENED THAT ONE NO. 108161 PC LAWRENCE KUMBER, AN OFFICER AT THE STATION, WOKE UP FROM HIS HOUSE AND FOUND ANOTHER OFFICER, NAMELY NO. 249864 PC NOAH ODERO, WHO HAD COME BACK FROM THE ARMORY AND WAS GOING BACK TO HIS HOUSE TO PICK SOMETHING.

PC LAWRENCE KUMBER, PICKED A HUGE STONE AND SUDDENLY HIT PC ODERO ON THE FOREHEAD MAKING HIM FALL ONTO THE GROUND, IN THE PROCESS INJURING HIM AND HAS SINCE BEEN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL IN A FAIR CONDITION.

AFTER PC ODERO FELL DOWN, PC KUMBER PICKED PC ODEROS RIFLE S//NO: AK2L13983L AND RUSHED TO THE ARMOURY.

IN THE ARMORY WAS THE INCHARGE LINES/ARMORY NO. 67321 CPL FRANCIS KOKWE AND OTHER OFFICERS WHO WERE PICKING UP ARMS FOR DAY'S DUTY.
UPON REACHING THE ARMORY, PC LAWRENCE KUMBER SHOT AT THE INCHARGE LINES, KILLING HIM INSTANTLY.

HE ALSO SHOT AT NO. 240785 PC EZEKIEL MATETE, KILLING HIM.
FURTHER, HE ALSO SHOT AT AT NO. 254987 PC ABASS MOHAMMED, AND INJURED HIM ON THE LEFT SHOULDER.

PC KUMBER, THEN WENT BACK TO HIS HOUSE, WHERE HE LOCKED THE DOOR FROM INSIDE AND COMMITTED SUICIDE BY SHOOTING HIMSELF ON THE CHIN.

THE INJURED OFFICER WAS RUSHED TO ALHILAL HOSPITAL IN MOYALE IN SERIOUS CONDITION, WHILE THE DECEASED OFFICERS BODIES WERE TAKEN TO MOYALE SUBCOUNTY HOSPITAL MORTUARY.
MOTIVE OF THE KILLINGS REMAIN UNKNOWN.
