Too many mistakes, but since you've already built, this comments are not for you!
1. The shape to go for underground masonry tanks of similar dimensions are cylindrical. (google will tell you why)
2. No detail has been given for the bottom slab, reinforcement is required depending on site conditions.
3. No detail has been given for wall reinforcement, ever heard of hoop irons?
4. No detail has been given for water proofing mortar and on the internal plaster, unanyimana details
5. Single layer of masonry @ 14 feet deep will leak, you will loose clean water during dry season and ground water will leak in during rainy season
6. Joint detail between masonry wall and bottom / roof slab?
6. Over flow detail?
7. Manhole at same level with roof slab? You are inviting contamination!
8. Top slab @ same level with ground?, whats your load rating? Umenyima wangwana details
9. Sump bwana!

For anybody looking to construct something similar, answer the above questions before embarking on such a project

The bottom slab has 'd16 double layer 0n 150mm intervals'. the outer side of the masonry is reinforced with a 3 inch slab/ kokoto. There is also a ring beam at the bottom middle and the top (D16). For waterproofing I have used BASF masterseal 501. The manhole is still not completed, the last photo shows the waterproof applied with a brush before the final screed and "Niro"

I tried this thing and failed miserably. I'm hoping to find someone to fix one that never stores any water. Ni kama mtaro. The idiot me built it using a local fundi. Wanjinga wawili pamoja ni hatari 😁

Are the same requirements necessary for a septic tank?
