I am not a Futurama fan .
Wadau ,things are going south quick and fast . Mfuko ziko empty including yours truly .Opportunities hapa na pale hakuna Banae wale umefanyia kazi hawalipi . 2017 was a rehearsal this time round mambo iko karibu kufika tipping point . I hope things will normalise very soon otherwise itakuwa nduru tupu.
Have you been broke to a point it feels like you are sick ?
Watu wa kurusha mawe the stage is yours ....

Some will tell you it is because of Covid or the war in Ukraine. While it might be partially true, those problems just hastened a problem that has been developing for a while now.

The middle and lower class are spending less. Personally, I find that I am going out less because you end up spending more on the exact same thing you were spending very little on. I don't want to have to dip into my savings and investments to pay daily bills.

And the reality is, it will take time before even the new regime is able to stabilise the ship. In fact, most of the promises being peddled are outright lies.

Sad state of affairs while smaller economies like Zambia are seeing an upturn in fortunes for electing a good leader who cares about the people and is hands on in improving the economy in Hakainde Hichilema.

So many people are hungry... it's made worse by poor weather. There is no maize in the farms....the rain was inadequate

Like the old man @Field Marshal says , population counts a lot.

Population in Zambia is expected to reach 17.88 Million by the end of 2020, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations. In the long-term, the Zambia Population is projected to trend around 18.40 Million in 2021 and 18.93 Million in 2022, according to our econometric models.

I agree with you.
However, my point was that they were doing quite badly, chose to elect a sober leader who has turned things around.
Unfortunately, we don't seem to have such a visionary on the ballot next week.
