Yes yes, I know the proper spelling is thubu but hear me out... it might just be quite unhealthy.
You know, it's a chilly evening and Njoro wa mutura has all manner of grilled delicacies outside your favourite butchery. Mara ya mbuzi, ulimi ya ng'ombe, mutura ya damu na ya matumbo as well as wariungu are very inviting. Then to wash it all down, what else is as good as the uber-hot soup laced with gafirifiri kwa umbali?
Anyway, I am a self-confessed partaker of such offal-based delicacies and I will not stop but the same might not apply to the thufu.
Jana I had an event somewhere and in my rush couldn't get the time it takes to poesha the hot stuff so I asked the guy to pour it in a metallic water bottle I had with me and off I left. It was cold when I got home so nikaiweka kwa fridge. Leo nimetoka job nikaamua wacha nichemshe the delicious stuff but ikakataa kutoka kwa chupa. Warmed some water and put in the bott but still, ikakataa. Turns out the entire soup had solidified into this thick fat and I had to get really creative to get it out.
Yes I know the reason supu huwa inapigwa ndani ya kibuyu ni kuifanya iwe smooth lakini jo, hiyo kitu imenishangaza.
Good thing I was also preparing the evening meal for my puppy so nikaweka hiyo mafuta hapo.
