A 61 one year old arrested after conning recruits 1.4million shillings in Ruiru.

A con woman purporting to be in a position to influence the ongoing countrywide recruitment of Kenya Prisons constables has been arrested in Ruiru, Kiambu county after she issued fake recruitment letters to four victims who parted with ksh 1.4 million.

According to officers based at Ruiru police station, the distressed victims identified as Nancy Nyawira, Moses Gitau John Kebaso and Mercy Wambui reported to the police that while within Ruiru town they received calling letters to have their relatives attend training at Ruiru Prisons Staff Training College from one Benson Nganga who allegedly works at Prisons Headquarters.

In the process, Nancy gave out ksh 300,000, Moses gave out 350,000, Mercy gave out 350,000 and John gave out 400,000 all totalling to Kshs 1,400,000.

The victims joy of securing the calling letters would however turn out to be short-lived upon close scrutiny where they realised that the calling letters were fake.

Isn’t it a pity that what motivates us most about the jobs we aspire to do is money? What about other important considerations like service to others, conservation of environment, furtherance of justice or patriotism and altruism?

I think we as a society miss too much satisfaction and joy when we hold money in such high esteem that we fail and disregard those other benefits which sadly, money doesn’t give.

Here in UK there are many TV programs which feature people who have left high powered jobs in finance, medicine, law, academics etc to pursue low paying jobs which serve those other benefits that money don’t give.

nimekupea like, lakini in future do not make the mistake of comparing Kenya and UK/EU, even our own president hides his money huko and well educated Kenyans like yourself would be back home building the country
