The corruption index azimio want to ignore

He has put it so plainly that it is just left for you to question how truthful it is.

It has always been my opinion that Ruto despite being corrupt has carried the corruption baggage of the government solo. They even tried to put the KEMSA scandal around his neck na alikuwa nje akitangatanga. Honestly fwuak jicho nyanya.

Facts are stubborn.

Apart from the first part where he discusses about milk, the rest of the points he raises about KAA, KPLC and National Oil is nonsense. Hakuna facts hapo. Anyway, Kibagendi is a Youth Affairs director at DP Ruto's office so I understand where he is coming from.

Did Kenyatta cronies not want to privatise KQ only to be blackmailed by the other Kimwarer and Arror clique? Doesn't KPLC now get loans from NCBA? Didn't Rubis get slapped on the wrist for advantageous landing of oil products at the expense of other players?

Table some evidence to show us the presence of the other clique. Starting point is who appointed CS Rotich. Ignore ethnicity.

Na Kenyatta cronies hawakulipa tax kwa merger ya CBA na huku KRA haitikii watu wapumue. Ama aje @Okiya wewe ni auditor, kwa nini hawakulipa ushuru na KRA ikawanyamzia

Let's go step by step and discuss KQ first. We'll get to the KPLC issue later. You say Kenyatta's cronies wanted to privatise KQ. First of all, KQ is already privatised since 1990s. What the government was trying to do was to nationalise KQ. So it seems from the onset you are wrong on KQ. True?

My bad. There was the story of private entities owning planes and who get paid despite the losses incurred. Who are those guys? I'm not deflecting the issue, just curious as to understand this matter

CS is a Rotich was an appointee from the URP side. He has been adversely mentioned and he alongside 8 others still have a case ongoing at the courts

KQ was privatized 25yrs ago ie in 1996. May be you were not born then so hujui hii maneno and huyo mtu amemwambia msisome historia.

Quote:

Founded in 1977 as a government-owned entity following the collapse of the East Africa Community, KQ was the first African Airline to be privatized in 1996. Since its founding and prior to its privatization, KQ had accumulated massive financial losses and crippling debts resulting from government-backed loans issued by financial institutions. The financial losses implied a drain to the exchequer as the government was subsidizing KQ to remain afloat. Therefore, privatization and divestiture of Kenya Airways were indispensable.

The privatization of KQ in 1996 resulted in a restructuring to a 29.8% government ownership from 100% government ownership which yielded efficiency gains, improvement of service standards and a turnaround of the airline’s profits. The airline recorded a 61% growth in flights in a period of six (6) years after its privatization and a doubling of cargo and passenger traffic in a decade. The privatization had a twofold benefit to the exchequer; reduced budgetary support, and tax inflows. Privatization implied that the management was supervised by the shareholders and resulted in management focus on enhancing KQ financial efficiency.

KQ’s journey, unfortunately, has not been all smooth flying since its privatization. Despite being a private company, the government has often shouldered the burden of keeping the airline afloat. For instance, in 2017, the government bailed out KQ from a US$ 243 million debt plus accrued interest owned to the National Treasury, resulting in an increase in government shareholding to 48.9% up from 29.8%. The restructuring resulted in dilution of shareholding by KLM to 7.8%, 38.1% by consortium of local lenders, 2.4% by employee share ownership plan and 2.8% by individual shareholders.

KPLC has loans from other local and foreign banks. Why single out one bank?

Quote:
Kenya Power’s current lenders include Standard Chartered Plc whose total outstanding loans as of June 2020 was Sh39.3 billion, Rand Merchant Bank (Sh2.4 billion) and Equity Bank (Sh4.9 billion).

Mololine sacco founder has own core fleet and also operates vehicles owned by other individuals. KQ also has core fleet of 19 planes and also 17 other leased planes. Its how the transport industry works.
