Religion is opium. Wale watu hulia ati leaders are annoited by God watatuambia kule hitler, idi amin etc walitoka.

I have a low opinion of religious folks and their leadership, I am from a religious family, my alcoholic uncle is okay but my 'reverend' uncle has never paid a small debt incurred costing 6 figures amount 7 years later, yet he can pay it in a month if he so wishes from his sheeple contributions.
Religion has been used to excuse all evils in this world, slavery for the Christians, slavery and terrorism for the Moslems.

SMH. Hatuna shida na Atheists and Agnostics so ni hard small kuelewa mbona mko na machungu hivyo.
I can only speak for myself as belief in God is personal. I am a Christian and hope to never forget what a terrible mess (probably dead) my life would have been had I never received Christ.

I am not an atheist but like my parents like to say, i question everything. As in niko na garari mingi. For example, why do people find it so easy to donate to build grandiose churches while nearby schools look like cow sheds? Why is the politician telling me God will help end corruption as if we don't have free will? I believe God helps those who help themselves. If I want to get over an obstacle, i have to build that ladder and pray to God it doesn't break as I climb it. Others pray for God to build the ladder.

  1. Questioning stuff is a great trait. You and I are similar in that regard.
  2. I don't know why people donate to build big churches instead of doing charity. What I do know is that the God I share a relationship with has said numerous times in His Word that the Church is actually the body of believers.
  3. Never trust a politician fully and his/her word, no matter how sincere they seem.
  4. We do have free will and that's why some choose to believe and others don't. It's just life.
  5. God doesn't help those who help themselves. That is a man's saying that is often misquoted. On a light note, many also say that money is the cause of all evil while the Bible actually states that The Love of Money is a root of all kinds of evil in 1 Timothy 6:10. In fact, it goes on to state that "...Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." The last part is very true about a huge chunk of today's Christians, sadly.
  6. People have different levels of faith and I think building a ladder to climb up is logical and smart. Kudos.

Church is actually the body of believers.
You have made very good points, all that I agree with except this. The bible also says Jesus will come for his church. The church is not the building. The church are the believers. It also says that that where two or more people congregate to worship, the lord will be moving among them. The modern day church has monetized religion. You would be lucky to find a place where people go to honestly praise and worship and grow spiritually.

I don't have a problem with Christianity, it's only the pretext of Christianity, that I shun, stealing in the name of the lord, if I didn't believe in a higher power, I could be owning several plots in Karen fraudulently obtained in the first term of jubilee just like my peers from Eastlands.

Very good points sir.

Let me tell you something you might relate with as someone in the security service.
There are many bad cops but a majority of them are honest folks who do so much good though aren't appreciated like they truly deserve.
I also don't know about your Christian uncle who isn't a good person.

For that reason, that's why I will never speak ill of police like some do whenever any lose their lives nor would I ever refer to them with lame names such as D Minus. Same thing with Christianity in that deducing an entire faith because a few don't live moral lives is simply unfair.

Also, if I was to dislike @Clemens just because he has a bad uncle, I really would be doing you and your relaz a disservice. Not unless I am bitter because of a particular event and so blanket blame is an easy escape.

Christianity is not what those who have a Christian name, go to church and act pious do. It's a personal relationship that has a clear message of hope for the lost, redemption for the weary and love for humanity. End of.

Asanteni for the discourse. Wiki njema
