Good idea but is it practical?

most of these great ideas are presented to the relevant people. but since most don't have a monetary advantage, or come from juniours, they collect dust on the shelves.

will be of the opinion that we need African solution to our hawkers, nduthi, handcarts, trollies......... and stop using the west/east solution or way of doing things. most of those countries didn't have hawkers or nduthis when they made their designs.

we need to incorporate nduthis, mokokoteni, trolley, pedestrian, matatus in all our towns/cities. whether by confining them to specific streets/hours/locations.........

so this is a brilliant design (the one with pedestrian walkways and cycle track under the expressway don't think would work) but without discipline non of the great ideas will work.

so it's not a great idea

Great plan.

But since we have a colonial government, the solutions to these problems are NOT allowed to be:

1. Authentically Kenyan. Must be from China/USA or EU through some NGO
2. Innovative. Only rudimentary solutions like wheelbarrows and discarded cartons and gunnysacks may be considered. Bonus points if discarded plastic bottles are used.
3. Beneficial/uplifting to the ordinary Kenyan. Only the selected few, the "collaborators" if you will are to be allowed such privileges.

Revise the plan to fit these criteria and we may have it implemented.

Being poor is Langaab kabisa. Imagine the governemnt can't provide decent jobs for the population, people starve and resort to hawking to keep food on the table. The governemnt and well off middle class wants to make that illegal too. This hawkers dont work for luxuries but for the basic needs.
Problem is hawkers do not stay at their designated places. When a hawker sets up their cartons on a walk way squeezing pedestrians into a single file.... Akiweka nyanya kwa pavement bahati mbaya ukanyange apige nduru. Hawkers are just a nuisance that should be dealt with. Privilege my foot

Hawking is t beneficial to anyone. It actually hurts the businesses that would employ a few Kenyans.
Whatever they sell is neither needed nor wanted. They should go back to their villages and do something productive, like farming

Na downtown waligeuza barabara to be a fuckin garage, na kuna MCA, MP, Senator, Women Rep, Gavana atasema ni haki yao kuwa hapo on a public road

I am of the opinion that Hawking should be made illegal.
Why? Nothing wrong with street vendors selling their wares. Happens all over the world.
