I see concrete blocks have starred being popular in Kenya.
Not sure If there are enough fundis and contractors who know how to build with. That's the challenge.
Advantages are you'll spend less on plaster work, disadvantage maybe you can't interlock to hold the weight of a two storied building.
I'll let the experts comment more about it.

Kwanza mwaga materials....kama quarry stones for foundation, ballast and sand. Start prospecting for timber for the sides and support.
But niulize...one bedroom si nikanyumba kadogo sana. Ni ya mtu wa kazi ama?

What makes you believe that you cannot interlock? Prior to the popularity of Ndarugo stones, some of which are as soft as an old loaf of bread, concrete blocks were very common.

Katakua na additional room, hehe katakuwa kama "temporary structure" before main house iinuliwe, natakuhepa landlord banae

How would you rate soil compressed interlocking blocks ?
They are cheaper than stone and motar.... you might make some saving but walling for a bungalow is only 12% of the total construction cost. The savings will be negligible.
