Hazing is a vital part of all military training. Anyone who tells you it doesn't happen is lying. Talk to guys fresh from Embakasi and Utawala. They have some interesting stories to tell. KDF recruits have a place famously known as "Kasirika Stadium". They know why they call it that.
Even in developed countries with a million regulations to protect recruits, the instructors find creative ways to physically punish and mentally torment them. Whether police should be getting such training is another matter entirely.
