Mimi naona ministry is to blame. I didn't see the rationale of rushing programs so as to "get back to normal" in 2023. Or are kids disadvantaged when they complete their basic education one year older than what they anticipated?

Let us not always be looking for someone to blame. Or a single reason why all these things are happening. My view is that the burning is the symptom of several underlying issues that need to be studied and tackled. These issues start from where the kids have grown up (environment) to how they are socializing in this age of social media and so on. A child psychologist I have watched on TV this morning said that the burning is like the kids holding up a placard saying listen to me I have something to say....

All said and done I think we have reached a stage where these boarding schools are nonsense. Kijana atoke kwao asubuhi aende shule jioni arudi akale kwa mama/baba yake. Hizi story za chai haina maziwa kwa hivo tukachoma ni upusi...end of rant.

Some parents use boarding schools to abdicate,avoid and escape their parental role in bringing up their childten.

Since 2016 when the govt introduced radical measures to tame cheating and school fires, it took this program without holidays to burn schools. You can't say that children were not indisciplined for the last 4-5 yrs.

To me this looks like deadpan sarcasm by an extremely cynical and jaded man who has given up on ever having the real issues addressed. But it's only twenty seconds out of a much longer discussion. Will have to watch the full thing later.
