Regardless of what you might think of the man, the facts remain constant. This man, William Samoei Ruto is said to have hailed from humble background. From hawking groundnuts on the streets of Eldoret to being the Deputy President and President for 3 days.

I'm not here to support his politics, but rather to talk about his character and what it is that made him a success.

His character you say? Character ya unyang'anyi ndio unataka tuongelelee? Convicted and ordered to pay for forcefully evicting a legal owner coz he could? Seriously?
Everything else achieved pales against such behaviour.

Perhaps character wasn't the right word.

More along the qualities he possesses.

Character ya unyang'anyi ndio unataka tuongelelee?

Also, holding a politician, a Kenyan politician, to such high standards is a mistake on your part.

His many scandals and vices doesn't change the fact that he is probably on his way to winning the top job.

And its this quality of being able to move onwards/ forwards regardless of what you and I might think of him is what I'd like to cover.

I hope I've made my point clear.
