290 Out 300 Health Workers Fail English Test For UK Jobs -

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe says only 10 out of 300 health workers who did an English test for UK jobs passed.

The scheme, hatched in July, would have seen hundreds of Kenyan nurses and other health workers get a chance to work in the UK.

Currently, there are more than 30,000 jobless Kenyan nurses and healthcare workers in the country.

The problem is that you have people getting into nursing schools after cheating in their KCSE so that grades are not reflective of intellectual ability. Also, nurses getting jobs thanks to tall relatives instead of being selected on the basis of merit.

Ni kwa nini tunashangazwa na maneno ya watu kuanguka mtihani inapima ujuzi wa lugha ya mkoloni? Huwa mnafanyisha hao wazungu wanaokuja kufanya kazi huku mtihani ya Kiswahili?
I'm guessing because UK-ians are monolingual and this being about people's health the nurse needs to be able to communicate instructions exactly as intended.

Hapa we understand Kizungu and translators wako kila kona.

Wewe na hao wauguzi mia mbili na tisaini waluanguka mtihani wa kiingereza mko kikundi Cha whatisup pamoja... But again, what do you expect from nurses if the stories about MTCs are anything to go by?
@Aviator angusha mtihani ya usungu tufanye mimi na @It's Me Scumbag peke yetu sisi wawili.
I will beat him hands down. So badly that he will change his handle to save face
He thinks najua steering ya Msedes tu
