Kenya's 2022 General Elections is set for August 9, this is according to the constitution. The main focus is on President Kenyatta's succession.
Who will succeed President Kenyatta?
So far, ateast 7 people have declared that they want to succeed Uhuru. Political party shifts have also started as DP William Ruto is recruiting more members into his party, UDA.
One Kenya Alliance(OKA), which was recently formed by ex-NASA principals comprises of Baringo Senator Gideo Moi, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, ANC party Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka. The alliance was formed as they did not want to associate themselves with Raila Odinga.
The NASA divorce was messy as other principals wanted their shares back.
Last week, Jubilee Sec Gen Raphael Tuju in a presser asked the DP to resign as the party's 2nd in command as he had showed beyond reasonable doubt that he was running another party while still a member of Jubilee.
In his letter, he also wanted the DP to show other hustlers how to earn more money instead of giving them wheelbarrows; this was after the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i had presented Ruto's wealth in Parliament following withdrawal the DP's security. The DP later revealed that he earms Sh1.5million per day from selling eggs alone.
In the next year, the country will see major political shifts as more coalitons will be formed, some will be independent and some will endorse their preferred candidates.
Martha Karua as also been seen meeting leaders from Mt. Kenya region and she is yet to declare a political stand on whether she'll vie in Kirinyaga as the governor or try the top seat.
As the elections approaches, every self declared presidential candidate has said they will have to approach a deputy presidential candidate from the Mountain.
The following collaboration would be the next leaders of Kenya.
