Nairobi Expressway's Toll Stations

The below are artist impressions of some of the Toll Stations that will be located on the Nairobi Expressway.

As some Kenyans have pointed out, there's a risk that such manual stations might lead to snarl up which in turn would beat the entire premise of the expressway.

Many countries are nowadays for high-tech, chip based digital tolling points that automatically charge the usage of the road and can be topped up prior to usage..much like an e-wallet.

That's over simplification on how a toll tag works... A camera can't scan it at speed unless it slows to a crawling pace.... A radio signal on the other hand transmits all the vehicles info, axle etc to the ticketing equipment

And there's traffic just to exit Lifestyle basement parking in the evening.... Scale that up to a public access highway road

I've been in one. We didn't slow down even a bit and money was deducted when we crossed the toll gate.
