PF trying to get a court injunction to stop announcements of election results claiming there has been violence

We don’t know which law the PF will use because the law says that am aggrieved person may petition the results after they have been announced.

But PF is determined to get one of the judges on its pay roll to abuse the law.

But UPND will not tolerate this rubbish, the Watchdog has been informed.

PeP STATEMENT No.60 ISSUED ON FRIDAY, 13th AUGUST 2021: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

1. As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) we wish to announce to the nation that based on the results that have so far been announced from various polling stations across the country, we would like to concede defeat in the presidential race. It has become apparent to us that this was predominantly a two-horse race between the Patriotic Front (PF) and the United Party for National Development (UPND), and therefore even the other presidential candidates who had invested heavily in the race have performed dismally. As a Party, we shall dusty ourselves up and reorganize in the next five years so that we can perform better in 2026.

2. As Patriots for Economic Progress, we further wish to state that based on the results that have so far been announced, it appears inevitable that Mr Hakainde Hichilema of UPND will win the presidency in this election. We therefore call upon President Edgar Lungu and his Government to move immediately and provide state security to the UPND Presidential Candidate, as per custom. It must be noted that provision of state security for a presidential candidate does not require that such a candidate be officially declared as a winner, but only when it is likely that such a candidate might win.

3. As Patriots for Economic Progress, we further wish to thank the Zambian people for their huge voter turnout and for exercising their right and duty to vote, in a peaceful manner. Given the fact that the eyes of the entire region and world are on Zambia, it gives me great joy and pride to be a Zambian and to be associated with yet another possible peaceful transfer of power.

Thank You and May God Bless the Good Citizens of the Republic of Zambia and Our Ailing Nation.

YOURS SINCERELY

SEAN ENOCK TEMBO (SET)
PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE
PATRIOTS FOR ECONOMIC PROGRESS (PeP)

President Elect Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND has so far polled 4.3 million votes leaving his distant tail former PF leader Edgar Lungu who is at 1.1 million.

UPND has so far won 109 Parliamentary Seats and 20 have won as independents.

This is according to the Jesuits Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) PVT.

Meanwhile, PF Secretariat General Davis Mwila says the election was rigged adding that their agents were beaten and removed from all polling stations across the country.

PF PVT SHOWS GREAT LOSS, AS SADC CALLS LUNGU FOR RESTRAINT

By Naomi Sakala 13th August 2021

PF IT specialists and their PVT teams have projected a huge loss for the ruling party, and have advised President Edgar Lungu that the position is unassailable, this is according to State House sources.

The President was also briefed by the Director General of the Zambia Intelligence Security Services Hector Sikazwe, in the early hours of the morning, that after seeing the overwhelming response from voters who clearly rejected him, the Armed Forces will find it very difficult to cooperate with him against will of the citizens.

The PF PVT shows a huge surge for UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and that this would render electronic manipulation an impossible task.

"Hacking into an election that is too far ahead would be too glaring a feat and a red herring that would be too visible to the naked eye. The experts laid their facts before Lungu and left him to digest them", said the source.

Meanwhile the source said the OP Director General Hector Sikazwe requested for an urgent face to face meeting with the President at 02 hrs but only managed to see him at 04hrs.

"Sikazwe advised the President that he has only a few hours to maintain a full hold and authority of the Zambia Armed Forces. The DG told Lungu that as Hakainde's tally at Mulungushi International Conference Centre increases against the President's, the middle Military Commanders will begin to carefully scrutinise whatever order they receive and see whether it's on the side of the people or not".

And the same source said that SADC Heads of State have started calling on President to exercise restraint in order to keep the mood of the nation on the path to peace. They told Lungu that he should measure every word he says to ensure that security is not compromised and that peace is guaranteed.

"SADC and the Diplomatic Community are nervous about President Edgar Lungu's recent pronouncements where he threatened to arrest Hichilema after elections. They tell him these words are deeply ingrained in the opposition leader's supporters who according to the unofficial election results may well over be more than 60% percent of Zambians. Now you don't play around with such a base without endangering national peace".
