Would make more sense to form a cooperative of herders, build a slaughterhouse and have distribution centres in major towns where butchers can buy from,kinda like Kíamaiko
The market is one of the recommendations to help foster peace and tame rustling. The market brings together livestock traders and herders from Borana, Samburu, Rendille and perhaps Somalis (from Western Wajir).
It is supposed to work like another in Tiati (that was reopened over the weekend) which brings together Turkana, Pokot and Tugen herders to trade together and interact.
