Just wondering

Kuna biashara za wakenya that go past two generations i.e from father to son/daughter and continue thriving without political support?
Biashara za Michuki na Karume are not doing well after their demise and also Kibaki leaving power. Me huona wahindi na woriah huwa wamejipanga sana for such.

Mhindi ama woriah akiandika Mohammed & Sons he means it. You will get the sons there running the shop. Mkenya akiandika Kamau & Sons you know that's just a name. The sons will never be present in the business. They will know their father was wealthy when he dies na lawyer alete titles na bank accounts za mzee.

Shida ingine ni mwafrika akipata pesa anapeleka watoto shule wakajifunze sijui udaktari au uwakili au taaluma zingine zenye anafikiria zitaleta pesa, instead of kumweka kwa biashara ya familia, waindi wakimaliza basic education hakuna kuajiriwa ni back to family business, that's why hakuna watu hutoka inje kuleta corruption na kupora mali, a son who realizes he is building his own inheritance is the most loyal employee you can have,

Most Kenyans tend to direct their off springs in other directions than what they're doing. The one who stick around family businesses are ones that dropped out of school, or didn't manage to make it to college.
When the patriarch exit the scene, most of the kids are not interested, or the family is locked in wrangles.
Mtu niliheshimu , ni Gov. Gachagu, He sold everything, and gave his family members money, kitu ilibaki ni family houses, and a few farms.

Kusoma sio mbaya, wahindi husoma UK sana, wanafanya hadi masters. Wale masomo huwashinda go become managers and supervisors on the shop floor, hawa waliosoma come and join the dad pale senior management.
Na bado sio wote huja into the bisiness, some come with ideas from majuu and convince the parents to help with capital and connections, end result unakuta one family but they have very many income streams

Also over and above what has been discussed, shida ingine ni parti after parti, showing off to all . Wealth can't last

Many Kenyan billionaires do not know how to make and maintain their wealth without engaging in corruption. For example someone like Sonko atawachia watoto wake biashara gani?

Ile ujinga and ignorance iko kwa hii thread ndiyo hufanya mimi nawaita bonobo.

Wrangles over property are a global phenomenon. There are hundreds of deceased birrioneas you never hear off because their families don't wash their dirty linen in public. Just because a couple have been featured doesn't mean it's all of them. Of the top of my head, you think the families of the likes of Gakunju, Ndegwa, Nyaga, Angaine, etc are poor?

Blame it on the patriarchs: they never groom their successors and only cede control after losing their faculties.

Positive example: Samuel Kibathi of Sagret mentored his children and made good custodians of his Estate. He was a Karume compatriot. Those who know, know.
