One day and probably in our lifetime, Congo will realize that it needs to be split to make it manageable. Problem is the resource rich east is in an unending war with itself. One day they'll have to split. You need to have been there to see this.
The other option is to abandon the capital and get another centralized location. Imagine some places are days from Kinshasa, yet Kinshasa is a river across from another country and capital. Kama Kenya hupata shida with Pwani si Kenya and Shifta na Sabaot, imagine if the capital was in say malaba or Isbania, most of Kenya would be like the Wild west of yore.
Infrastructure Development is the other option, though gifted Congo has close to zero infrastructure. Those who came to oversee the evacuation in Goma had to fly in!! But for the few humanitarian bases, UN and Co, and UN gets it's supplies from Entebbe, if you have ever landed in Uganda you will see their planes there and a logistical center that serves Congo. But for the UN and her sisters near Goma, it'd take someone in case of an emergency 50 hours of straight driving to get there from Kinshasa. It's about 2,500kms! Couple that with bad roads!!
By comparison, the distance from Nairobi to Mandera is slightly more than 1000kms, not that the road is any better (from the last time I was there) but you still can't compare the two
Conclusions
Congo needs to be split or the capital moved or major infrastructure development!!
