I can remember him for a few things: He detested Benjamin Mkapa for deporting him from Dar after the breakup of EAC1, and used his article to castigate a sitting head of state.
Secondly, His article on semitism back in 04 had a right of reply by the then Israeli ambassador, his rejoinder article to the ambassador silenced him and the mission for good, since the guy had a deep understanding and analysis of history. May he RIP, he had nuggets of wisdom that he dispensed liberary to all via his articles.

He was a very good journalist and wrote well thought out and highly intellectual opinion pieces until he became a government apologist, no one would take him seriously after that, it took a while to rehabilitate him but he never really got back his mojo, so he remained just a grammar nazi which he was very good at.
