I also gugud AK-47 sniper rifle and excellent results came up.

Doesn't stop it from being highly inaccurate, unless in the hands of Turkana/Pokot/Toposa herdsmen.

Dude, I respect you in things military. But hapa ulinoa. All popular rifles have sniper variants, including the AK-47.

And any rifle fitted with a scope is technically a 'sniper rifle'....................

Sasa hapo kwa sniper rifle inakuwanga slippery slope. Kuna tofauti ya Sniper na Designated Marksman, depending on which coloniser you choose to follow. They have similar but varying jobs. Hapo kwa tools zao ndio mahali shida iko.

Every squad has people doing different jobs; communication, grenadier, mortarmen, heavy gunner e.t.c. A marksman is one of these trades.

These AR-15 variants can be fitted with scopes, ACOGs and other sights depending on environment, and for increased accuracy on the battlefield, for the squad's designated marksman.

What these Assault Rifles have are Designated Marksman Rifle variants. They are technically the same gun as an assault rifle, save for a few changes such as a longer barrel treated for accuracy and/or making them bolt action or semi-auto. They are capable of being used as a sniper rifle in short to medium range (300-600 metres). If things were to go south near the squad marksman, they can use that very weapon to defend themselves.

A proper sniper rifle is capable of engagements beyond 600 metres out to 1500-1800 metres and are bolt action. This proper sniper will usually carry another weapon, such as a DMR, assault rifle or pistol, for personal defence.
