This is Guka - I Am Starting to Think Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta is Being Demonised for Being a Gikuyu 'Prince'................

I guess
Thank you sir for your robust reply. I see, however, that your unverifiable data (source?) is rather dated, from 2018, three years ago. perhaps you operate on a different time scale, so no wass............................

Kindly read the following:

If by any chance you are unable to read, as I suspect, you can just satisfy your curiosity by staring at the graph on this WB site.

I guess I know the difference between what I provided and what you provided. I am talking of HOUSEHOLDS CONNECTED, while you are referring to access. Does having access mean you're connected? Perhaps this article by nation can help

Wow, they do spend a hell of money, right? How much of that is use to pay teachers? How much is left?

I am asking you guys to show, to demonstrate that your education was worth something - ANY THING - by making coherent, defendable arguments, not Muguka base manenoz.
you are busy ignoring bare facts being laid out, hold yourself to the same standard you are holding others

Research into who owns the battery farms in UG (Uganda and Uasin Gishu!) that due to economies of scale are able to undercut the small scale farmer with a thousand hens...Tukueni honest with one another.
Its the onus of the Kenyan government to protect Kenyan small farmers not Ugandan farmers period!!
So why are you surprised that Kenyans want a government that protects their interests???:rolleyes:
Btw why is chicken feed cheaper in UG than in Kenya????

Sir, state the facts that I have ignored. STATE THEM. One by one.................
here is one
excise duty on bundles, bottled drink

Yes, let's be honest with each other. I see you talking about equality in taxes but you conveniently forget to mention that NCBA merger was excempt from capital gains tax of about 300M.

TOT the stupidest tax in history how can one be taxed on turn over?
and I add, they have proposed to tax pensions, they have also proposed to tax the employed to give to the unemployed, uhuru has on countless times given empty threats, like getting to the bottom of the KEMRI CORONA thefts, but since it is his friends who stole....you can guess what will happen

So we should laud Kenyatta for achieving 85% electricity connectivity to households but 37% learners reached in the digital literacy program after 7 years isn't failure?

Please claim the failures with the same vigour as the successes

Thank you for your response. Your ability to write coherently is amazing given your obvious constraints.

To wit, you say that banning consolidated cargo affected business. True. But what was the effect of that 'consolidated cargo' on taxation? And on quality of goods imported?

As to Uganda's milk, have you heard of anything called EAC? What are the policies regarding regional trade? Is Uganda still our biggest export market? What would happen if they banned our exports?

Sir, please sit down with a big mug of uji before answering these questions.
I'm equally amazed that you can occasionally spin a coherent sentence, wonders never cease! 😁 😁
Uji is not my thing, hiyo ni ya wazee, but a cuppa tea or coffee will do for now:)

The effect on the banning of consolidated cargo on taxes is that, KRA is now complaining of low revenue collection. That part of the economy has shrunk !

Tax collection has gone down since there's no business going on in down town area but even worse is that the import business has been deliberately driven back into the hands of a few wealthy people with access to capital and cheap bank credit.
How can you claim to support small businesses when you cut off their lifeline?
Most developed countries allow consolidated cargo to come in so what best practice are we following?

With regards to standards, what prevents the large importers from bringing sub standard products?
All that is required is for KEBS to set and enforce standards not the banning of consolidated cargo.

Before you froth in the mouth over EAC and Ugandan milk it may serve you better if you researched on UG milk production, how can a net milk importer, export milk?
What we're importing from UG is reconstituted milk from powder imported from europe, china and ord knows where else, countries which I'm fairly certain do not belong to the EAC.

So why would you expect adulation and not opprobrium for a prince whose citizens feel/ know that their pockets are hurting due to his poor policies?:rolleyes:

NB All this happened pre covid so he can't use the pandemic as an excuse for the terrible decisions his regime has made.

Thank you very much sir. So let me try to address the issues you have raised.

1. The tax on bandos is a NEW tax on a NEW service. Are you saying NEW products should not be taxed because they benefit our much-valued and hyped youth? seriously? As for the tax on (plastic) bottled water, is it that you don't know the policy on plastics?

2. You harp on the alleged tax exemption for NCBA. I honestly can't see the connection between this and anything. Are you saying that if NCBA paid the alleged tax then tax for every one would have gone down?

3. TOT. One question here. There are about 210 tax jurisdictions in the world. Was TOT invented by Kenya? Hint: It is in Gugu, so no. Again, you want us to maintain a tax regime invented in the 1900s?

Lastly sir, I do not dispute your intelligence or knowledge of current affairs but I do not know of any KEMRI CORONA scandals. The ones I have heard about are KEMSA COVID scandals.

Suffice to say I wouldn't jump into a spaceship piloted by you.
