Kenya's Idleness

Every time you see a multitude gathering by the roadside, it is safe to conclude that it is a political event

If you bother to watch carefully, at the centre of all such congregations, there is a conman with a microphone. Could be an MCA, parliamentary, senatorial, gubernatorial or presidential

The bigger the seat, the larger the crowd. The deeper the pockets of the aspirant, more cheerful the crowd gets. However that's not important

How do politicians manage to mobilize such large crowds in short notices?

Kenyans must be very idle. Maybe out of joblessness and some other factors, but for sure, Kenyans are very idle

When elections come, Kenyans are known to leave their farms unattended to camp by the roadside, palms stretched, for handouts, and this partly contributes to a politicians urge to engage in corruption, to build capacity for the handout distribution

In other non-related news, three years ago, all TV stations in Kenya, save for the political correct K24 had been shut down. I know of many friends, who endorsed the gag on the media and even found reasons to support it. Today, they are crying the loudest about Uhuru's high handedness

When you return home and your own T9 attacks you, do you report to nyumba kumi? No. You munch your tomatoes in peace!
