This is Guka - Stressful Thoughts..............

Field Marshal

Elder Lister
Nimekuwa maroundi zangu na huku LA nikifikiria vile nitawagonga (paybill ain't working banaa) and then I saw this young matha cradling a baby so protectively against the evening chill. They were waiting for a matatu.

And for some reason - perhaps the spate of murders we have witnessed this year - it occurred to me that there are monsters out there who kill nursing mathas for all manner of stupid reasons - robbery, anger issues, whatever.

So imagine the terror of that poor lady as she is being stabbed or strangled to death, knowing she's dying, and her child is beside her. She can't do zilch about it, and as she fights for dear life, hopelessly, all the time she's terrified for herself and her child. What horror, what pain, what hopelessness.

I looked at the matha on the road again and almost stopped the armoured Wingroad with anti-aircraft missiles and direct line to State House on the steering wheel to give her a lift.

But then I drove on, and said a silent prayer for all good and genuine mathas out there who are hustling and raising the next generation to the best of their abilities.

May the earth rise to meet you, and the wind always be at your back. You are life's true heroines......................
