if the bamboo was crushed and mixed with cement, that would have made sense.
but replacing the steel reinforcement with an actual bamboo stick, not so sure about that. the work done by steel reinforcement cannot be substituted by bamboo sticks.

but by the end of the day, the house might be carried by the concrete itself and not even the bamboo.

also, since it's been done by Indians, I wouldn't disqualify it considering the great tutorials they have on youtube in regards to Engineering/Medicine......
might be something worth exploring since Bamboo is widely available.
