Tulisema reggae will stop, na bado

The religious leaders have been silent as the country fights against Corona Virus, child deliquescence, job and business losses. But can now talk about BBI. I would rather have a well rounded religious leaders who speak out on all social evils, I miss the days of Muge, Mannaseh Kuria and Ndingi Mwana A Nzeki were outspoken head of religious institutions.

What could they have done about these, their church run schools had been closed, even churches zilikuwa zimefungwa, they cannot do much about job losses, but hii BBi is completely within their control because people have a choice to make

They follow the masses not the other way round. Hope this time they do their job diligently and without fear of persecution Muge style.

When the Church had not lost its moral authority. The other day an Anglican Bishop said something and some politicians said, "Huyu naye anasema nini na sisi ndio tulipatia yeye pesa ya campaign?"
I have never heard him again.

The church was a very important voice in the fight against a one party rule (when people didn't have a choice to make) and stopping state excess political prisoners were released due to pressure from the church, that could be history to you but constitutional change and repeal of section 2(a) of the defunct constitution of Kenya. There were times when the NCCK, Catholic Bishops and SUPKEM were the drivers of social and political change.

Sadly they will never know that, we are talking ancient history to the millennials, but we had upright religious leaders, who were being tailed by the dreaded special branch, for their outspokenness over all kinds of social, political and economic excesses by the regimes.

We need the churchs and mosques since they are one of the most trusted institution in Kenya.
