It was not poisoned...the way a government is to be managed, the general structure was perfect...all arms of govt were established with clear roles.....don't confuse application with interpretation...that same structure accommodated men and women who knew that Nairobi would not be sustainable at its current location they knew agriculture was the only way Kenya would industrialise....rangeland management was established....zoning was done.....but the African wanted immediate independence....a country is not an extension of someone's house....but that is how the first African govt governed Kenya...

The well was poisoned from day 1.

Poisoning of the well part 1- Kenyatta:

When the British decided to give Kenya the space for democracy in the 50s, they intentionally decided they will not give it to the freedom fighters and the people in detention. Instead, they detained the freedom fighters but at the same time they put in place children of chiefs and their fathers to be in charge of the programs.

Program 1 was demarcation of land. This was headed by chiefs.
Program 2 was running of the first government. The bureaucracy was headed by children of chiefs.

By the time the freedom fighters were coming from the forests and detention , they found a structure in place headed by chiefs and their children. These children of chiefs and their fathers were enemies of the people.
 
Posioning of the well Part 2:- Moi

When people started agitating for multi party politics in the 90s, Moi detained some of them. When the pressure was too much, Moi allowed for multi party politics.

But how did Moi poison the well?? Most of the founders of the new parties in the 90s were special branch people.

By the time the detainees were being released from prison, they found already 15 or so political parties in place. When they tried to form their own political parties, the people had already joined the political parties. What they didn't is know that it was Moi's game plan.

That's why it was easy to split the mega party FORD

I don't assume I deduce based on what I have at hand and since I am neither too clever nor too foolish once I am in possession of new information, I adjust myself but remain true to the principles that I rely on

Here is the fun part since we were just schooled on various forms of biases.....How many of the freedom lobbyists had their fathers as chiefs....I'll wait because I know;
Jommo's father wasn't, Mathu's father wasn't, Moi's father wasn't, Mboya's father wasn't, Mate's father wasn't...
Let's go to the first cabinet.....aside from Njonjo, Koinange and Mwendwa who else had a father who was a paramount chief?
Here's the sad reality....Kenyans are among the few Africans where if one succeeds he/she separates him/herself from the rest.....petty bourgeoisie

The jiu-jitsu in that wheelbarrow story was devastating.

He acknowledged the young man from Kitale, whom they had recruited to come and ridicule the hustler narrative. After calling the young man 'brillant', he then asked the whole room to explain why hustlers were so appreciative of 16th. Century implements in 21st. Century Kenya, bringing the debate right back where it belonged: why were the elite increasing their numbers and emoluments when they could use their resources to uplift the hustlers?

That is why as Kenyans we can't afford to entertain the politicians any more especially the Kenyattas, Odingas, Kalonzos, Mudavadis, Mois and such like....
With his articulation one can also note how diabolical Ruto is...he knows the issues but he has all along been part of the problem.....
