Kitale-Lodwar highway cut-off at Ortum in West Pokot following heavy rains, KeNHA advices motorists to use diversion
 
KeNHA has advised motorists plying Kitale-Lodwar route to use the existing diversion as they desilt and backfill the cut off section at Ortum in West Pokot County.
They also called on motorists to exercise caution, patience and not attempt crossing overtopped and cut off sections of any road.

I'm no roads engineer but I can tell that filling up a section that has been cut off by a natural water course is not very smart.

But that is how we work ndo kesho tupate hio contract tena.

On the ground, locals are preparing for prayers to be offered to God. Reason being that He/She may be angry at them.
They have not seen this much rain and to them this is not normal.
