One other thing that really desensitizes nurses and other health workers is the following sequence of events which nurses go through daily.
1. Medical supplies are delivered to the hospital.
2. Days later the medical supplies disappear from the hospital pharmacy.
3. A patient dies in her hands due to lack of the same medical supplies she knows were supplied and stolen from that hospital.
And just the knowledge that the patients are dieing needless deaths due to mismanagement and corruption.
