Three people died on the spot and several others injured following a road grisly accident at Thita, Mutuang'ombe-Makutano junction along the Mwingi-Garissa Highway.
The accident occurred when a 14-seater matatu diverting from the highway to enter a feeder road was hit from behind by a Lorry which caused it to overturn several times.
The Lorry then lost control and rammed into a stationary lorry which was loading water tanks on the right side of the road.
A third lorry was also crashed while trying to avoid the initial accident.

Harrison Muteti Katecho, OCS Wang'uru Police Station, Kirinyaga County, has died in a road accident at Eastern bypass, near Kamakis.
His Toyota Belta rammed into a lorry parked by the roadside reportedly to pay tax at the Kiambu County cess collection point.
Muteti sustained chest and head injuries and was rushed to Ruiru Sub-county Hospital. But he was pronounced dead on arrival.
