PART 36

; Tears of Marriage
By Greg wanyonyi
It didn't take long after Fidelis had left before receiving a call from the doctor. I was needed urgently in the hospital. That was the message delivered by the doctor without giving further detail concerning the same."What is wrong doctor? Is my wife okay?"I asked panicking. I didn't want anything wrong to happen yo my wife. She was mine and I loved her. For once I didn't know what to do. Whether to wait for Fidelis to come back or rush to the hospital to check on my wife. Finally, decided to make a call to Fidelis to inform her that I had left the house and she should not come back. I dialed her number but unfortunately the phone rang
from the house. Just on the seat that she
was sitting on before Chelagat came. She
had left the phone and there was no way I
could communicate to her. My wife or
Fidelis? The battle was won by love and I left the house for the hospital. A real man should never exchange his love for his wife for another woman. Regardless of where his wife was. I was a real man and so there was no way Chelagat was going to take my wife's position. Before I left, since I didn't want to hurt Fidelis, I wrote a note indicating where l was and apologising for leaving without informing her. I also gave her instructions on where to keep the keys in case she left before I came. With that I drove to the
hospital and found the troublesome gatekeeper. I just felt like slapping him after he tried to impede me from the hospital. " Boss am not here for a quarrel, I've been called by the doctor and it's seems urgent."| said releasing the brake pedal. "Masaa ya kuona wagonjwa imeisha." He said locking the gate almost scratching my car.I wanted to curse him but I remembered this was against the Advent faith. As an Adventist, I had been taught to keep cool under all provocations and thank to my elders, their advice and lessons stuck in me. Instead of pushing him further; since I knew it would yield no fruits, I called the doctor who came for me. To my surprise, the gatekeeper also tried to block the doctor from allowing me in. "This man. May God be with him." I said after parking my vehicle."Am sorry sir for everything." The doctor said after we reached his office. "What is it doctor? Is she fine?" I asked the questions in quick succession. " I've just called to inform you that your wife needs a second operation. From the observation, she has fluids filling up her brains and if we don't do something,
